76 Years and 7+ Months of Endless Brutality
Since October 7th, 2023, we have only seen Gaza go up in flames, and the world has essentially been doing nothing to stop the cruelties.
Our brothers and sisters suffer the horrors endlessly, over and over again each day. It’s been over 76 years since the Nakba of 1948, and 7+ months since the events of October 7th.
In 1948, over 750,000 Palestinians were forcefully driven out of their homes by the occupation. More than 530 towns and cities were completely depopulated and over 15,000 Palestinians were brutally killed. The oppression continues to this day.
76 years later, it has been made apparent that the Nakba never ended. Since the beginning of this genocide on October 7th,
Over 35,000 Gazans have been killed
Over 1.9 million Gazans have been displaced
Over 25,000 Gazan children have been killed or injured
Over 45,000 bombs have been dropped over the Gaza Strip
And the barbarities have been beyond human comprehension.
During this time, the world has continued to celebrate all its events: Halloween, New Year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Labor Day, Valentine’s Day, Women’s Day, Easter, Good Friday, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, the Met Gala, and whatnot.
And throughout these events, the brutalities of Gaza have been live-streamed. Our brothers and sisters have had to prove their humanity to the world. They had to resort to eating leaves, lemon soup, grass, and animal feed for survival.
Still, the oppression continues. The world does not seem to bat an eye to their suffering. In fact, it seems that the world at large has turned its back on Gaza…
But, we, the people who care, cannot let this be normalized.
Let our protests, our campaigns, our voices, and our support remain unsilenced and unwavering.
Today, as the people of Gaza are being starved, murdered, and forced to flee towards Rafah, let our support be their strength — and the oppressor’s weakness. Let’s join forces, and let’s help the people of Gaza when they need it the most.

In the past months, we have all witnessed our brothers and sisters in Gaza suffer in the most horrific ways possible. We have prayed, shared, protested, and participated in campaigns and boycotts — in essence, doing almost everything we possibly can to put an end to these brutalities. And that is GREAT!
But, as an Ummah and as humans, we ought to do more.
The Prophet SAW said,
“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one.”
And,
“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.”
Together, we have been trying to change it with our tongues and our hearts. However, we must also change it with our hands.
In Gaza, millions are on the brink of death, not just due to airstrikes, but also due to starvation, displacement, and diseases. The oppressors are doing everything they can to break their spirits and murder them in masses.
While our protests and boycotts help stop the airstrikes and call for an end to the barbaric actions of Zionist forces, we can also directly stand in their way and ensure that despite their relentless efforts, our brothers and sisters in Gaza do not starve to death!
